Sony Computer Entertainment Japan (SCEJ) revealed a preview video for Siren 2 today. This confirms rumors earlier this month that the title was indeed in development. The Japanese teaser website even confirms this, stating, "next SIREN in PROGRESS..." and goes on to mention that the game will release sometime in 2005.

Small snippets of Siren 2's plot have been revealed on Siren 2's website, albeit in Japanese. It appears as though some mysterious event 29 years ago caused the residents of the island Yami-jima to disappear. As luck would have it, the player characters are visiting the same island in the present, where the citizens have reappeared as undead and, naturally, want to kill you until you die from it. Certain features from the first Siren, such as "sightjacking" and using light to ward off your foes will be retained in the sequel. More information (and the teaser video) can be found here on the Siren 2 website.
