At first the idea of a turn-based-game didn't sound appealing. I'm the kind of guy who needs fast-paced, think-on-the-fly games where reaction timing is key. In this case though, you have so many options to take, and game-deciding decisions to make, that each time you press 'O' to "End Turn", the excitement from anticipation can be overwhelming. What's inside the defending fortress? Who will win the battle, the powerful or the weak/hurt army? (hoo rah for gambling) I won't downplay the excitement from sneaking up on an enemy in CoD4, but to me, Civilization is currently unrivaled (especially for ps3) with its unique facet for entertainment; watching your city grow and expand physically/technologically, then checking your city against your neighbors' village (or allying + sharing tech to defeat someone else) is mindblowingly intense.
