The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Sega Superstars Tennis is similar to the Mario Tennis franchise in that you have a bunch of popular mascots (in this case, Sega characters), a myriad of whacky courts and plenty of off-the-wall minigames. It also doesn't hurt that it plays like the addictive Virtua Tennis 3. With that said, the game lacks depth, throwing you onto the same courts repeatedly to complete the same minigames. In addition, you must press two buttons (one after the other) to lob the ball, which is quite annoying to execute, especially in a heated match. We love the online play, Superstar moves and homage to Sega games like Sonic, The House of the Dead, Samba de Amigo and Jet Set Radio. It's fan service all the way. But the lack of a World Tour mode and ease of difficulty cripples the game's long-term appeal.
