S2 Games has released a new demo for Savage: Battle of Newerth today. It is an updated sample of the real-time strategy / first-person shooter hybrid game.

The demo will give players the ability to play as Humans on the Eden2 and Crossroads maps. The demo will also include new units, buildings, improved online code and Xfire support.

Savage is a hybrid first-person shooter and RTS where players have a variety of options. Gamers can participate in the action as warriors in the battle and view the world from a first-person perspective, while those who choose to command the action look upon the battlefield from a RTS standpoint. Commanders have the capability to manage the strategic planning of a conflict, the resources involved and the orders given to other players, which may or may not be heeded.
