One of the biggest factors in the PC game industry is being able to run games on hardware that might not be up to the task. Indeed, the sales growth rate of laptops has outpaced desktop PCs. Developer Ascaron Entertainment and publisher CDV are trying to make the case that even notebooks can be great gaming machines. This week Ascaron and CDV announced that their upcoming fantasy action-RPG sequel Sacred 2: Fallen Angel will be optimised to run on laptop PC that have Intel's new Centrino 2 processor. New screenshots that show the game running on both Centrino 1 and 2 chips have been released that show how Sacred 2 used its Centrino 2 features. In addition gamers who want some offline multiplayer action can do so via the game's Wifi features which will allow gamers to join an ad-hoc multiplayer game without the need to go to an Internet connection. The game will also have an in-game battery meter and WiFi signal strength indicator. Sacred 2 is due for release in September.
