A couple of months ago we reported that the European version of Ascaron Entertainment's action-RPG Sacred 2 had a DRM set-up for two activations on PCs. At the time Sacred 2's US publisher CDV told us they were "currently formulating the license rights it intends to provide to each customer" for the game's release in the US.As it turned out, the US version of Sacred 2 will indeed have a DRM set up that is much different that the European version. CDV announced today that the US release, due out next week, will have a fairly innovative "Try Before You Buy" set-up. According to their press release, "....downloaded or purchased copies of the full game can be shared with friends and family, with these shared copies acting as full-featured demos for the duration of one calendar day." The game's single player campaign is completely unlocked and LAN multiplayer is also available during the one day trial. Once the one day trial period is over, people can either uninstall the game or purchase the full version via an online set-up.[Via email press release]
