The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Barbarian Invasion, the new expansion for the acclaimed real-time strategy game Rome: Total War shows that it can be harder to maintain an empire that is in decline than it is to actually build the empire in the first place. With improved AI, some new factions (including the fearsome Huns), the introduction of religion, and night battles, this expansion offers a great deal of content that changes how the game is played. However, some leftover nuisances from the first game, such as having to pre-pay for buildings before they are constructed, still exist. Still, the single player campaign is so challenging and engrossing that it's easy to forget about the game's shortcomings.
