The good news: the rhythm game is finally getting a solid release date for Europe. The bad news: gamers will have to pay out the nose for the privilege to play the game.

MTV Games announced today details of Rock Band's release in Europe. The game will have limited exclusivity on the Xbox 360 starting May 23 until Summer 2008. The European version of Rock Band will feature nine additional tracks from European artists, including Oasis' Rock 'n' Roll Star, Playmo's New Wave and H-Block X's Countdown to Insanity.
Additionally, Eurogamer is reporting that the game and the instruments will be sold separately in Europe and not part of a bundle like in the U.S. A combination of the microphone, drum set and guitar controller can be bought in an Instrument Edition bundle for £129.99, with the Rock Band game purchased separately for £49.99. This approximate total of £180 is nearly equal to $360, more than double the U.S. bundle price of $170.
