Fans of country music who have been waiting for their newer country faves to show up on Rock Band will have to wait a little longer before such alt-country names and Kenny Rogers arrive. On July 21, players of the game on PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii players will get the Rock Band Country Track Pack, a new track expansion that will add a whopping 21 songs to the game's lexicon, available at retail or via download.

"Rock Band loves country music too, and these tracks are among the most fun to play of any we've released to date," said Paul DeGooyer, Senior Vice President of Electronic Games & Music for MTV Networks Music Group. "We've received a ton of requests from fans to bring more country to the game, and our artist partners responded. We're very excited to be able to offer this set, featuring some of the greatest songs ever recorded."

Artists suck as Kenny Chesney, Shania Twain, Rascal Flatts and the Dixie Chicks make up the list of Alt Country stars that should get the interest of younger players as older fans. Classic country will also appreciate the inclusion of Kenny Rogers in the disc-based expansion. More tracks and artists will be announced as the expansion moves closer to release.
