The GameDaily One-Minute Review
With a single burst of nitrous, Ridge Racer 7 explodes onto the PlayStation 3 with the same cars and tracks as... Ridge Racer 6? The new arrival of Namco-Bandai's flagship racing series brings back memories of the original games for the PSOne and PSP, and this rehashed sequel isn't worth $59.99. Starting up, players are immediately plunged into several courses from its prequel instead of wowing audiences with several PS3 tracks; a no-no considering the previous game arrived 12 months ago. The game's 40 cars look disappointingly familiar. However, this game successfully brings arcade racing home, fully loaded with fast rides, excellent drifting, the ability to customize vehicles, and 14 person online play. Hardcore Ridge Racer fanatics should add this game to their collections. As for everyone else, a weekend rental should do the trick.
