Whether you're looking for old-school strategy from recent history or ancient history, Xbox Live's got your fix.

Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Tron-fantasy meets techno-soundtrack shooter receives a major update when it arrives on Xbox Live Arcade as Rez HD. For those who didn't experience the game the first time, players hack into a computer network where they attempt to alter the system's visual and music output. Sure, it sounds dull but the rhythm and visuals (which were amazing before) helped create a beloved gaming experience that should only get better with Rez HD's updated visuals. The complete game, available on Wednesday, January 30 at 9am GMT / 1am PT, features five levels and three modes for various skillsets. Rez HD is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB and will cost 800 points on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Ubisoft's long-time series, Chessmaster Live lets players experience the ultimate in turn-based strategy with five board variants, 3-D chess sets designed by House of Staunton, a Message Chess option for hardcore players willing to play over the course of days or connected competition through Xbox Live. Chessmaster Livewill arrive in everywhere except Japan and Korea for 800 points and received an E for Everyone rating by the ESRB.
