Resistance: Retribution locks and load with an all new sub-story in the series, focusing on a young British soldier named Grayson. A nervous breakdown forces him to turn on his fellow recruits, leading to an unfair incarceration. Shortly thereafter, however, he's called upon to battle the forces of the Chimera, both old (Hybrids, Leapers) and new (the odd half-alien half-human Cloven). Retribution has a lot to offer, especially if you own a PS3 and a copy of Resistance 2. Right away, you'll unlock the ability to play with a Dual Shock 3 pad, along with Infected mode. Here, you'll gain access to a slew of new weapons and abilities, including a .44 Magnum with explosive rounds. If you don't own it, Retribution still rocks with just one analog stick, thanks to a helpful aiming and cover system (which you can shift between auto-aim and manual aim -- you'll need to in order to survive the Hybrids). The game also boasts strong single-player campaign and multiplayer options including Containment (where you try to capture an enemy reactor) and Assimilation (where you play as a Cloven while converting your rebellion buddies). An auto-aim option makes the game easier than expected, and it would've been nice to see more of Resistance 2's magnificent weaponry in the game, but overall this is an action game that PSP fans shouldn't resist.
