Capcom Looking for More Movies (XB360)

With the fairly successful Resident Evil trilogy already under its belt, Capcom would like to become a large licenser of game properties into movies, not unlike what Marvel has done with comics.

Capcom President Haruhiro Tsujimoto revealed to Bloomberg that it is in talks with various Hollywood studios to produce movies based upon its various game properties. He'd like to license out various franchises like Devil May Cry into successful movie brands. The success of the upcoming Street Fighter movie will help determine how Capcom will proceed in the movie business going forward.

"We are in the process of working out contracts for several offers we received at the Cannes Film Festival last week and hope to make an announcement soon,'' said Tsujimoto to Bloomberg. "If realized, the projects will have a big impact on the game and movie industries."

"We want to do with games what Marvel did with comics," added Tsujimoto.

Personally Capcom has a laundry list of games they could make into movies and/or anime. I'd personally like to see a movie based on the onimusha franchise oh! and Strider would make a cool movie as well. Hell i wouldn't mind a darkstalkers flick as well.
