Although we can't wait for Capcom's Resident Evil 5, we don't like its outdated Resident Evil 4 controls. We want something new to go along with the gorgeous and fresh looking graphics and new (at least for Resident Evil) co-op mode.

Well it seems like the game's developers were listening. Kotaku reports that at a recent Microsoft press event, RE5 producer Jun Takeuchi announced that the game will control similar to Gears of War. Unfortunately, he did not go into detail, so we're left to speculate whether the characters will employ those familiar cover and shooting mechanics.

Thankfully, the game will appear in the public eye very soon. Capcom plans to bring it to this year's Tokyo Game Show (October 9-12), new controls and all.
