Reuters is reporting that Capcom is looking to launch 10 more games for the iPhone over the next fiscal year. The Japanese publisher launched Resident Evil: Degeneration on Apple's App Store earlier this month.
Capcom Chief Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe also noted that Resident Evil 5 sales should reach one million for the current fiscal year, beating company estimates by 200,000. The PS3 and Xbox 360 game sold 4.4 million units worldwide by the end of its first month of availability.
"We are still enjoying strong demand, very strong demand, that is," said Abe. "In the single month of April, sales came to as many as 570,000 units."
Abe also commented that despite the recent aquisition of Eidos by Square Enix, acquisitions were not in Capcom's current strategy. "We aim to achieve 10 percent growth in sales and hit an operating margin of 15 percent each year. But acquisitions are not how we are going to do that, at least for now," said Abe. "We plan to strengthen our own business first, and only after completing that process, we will think about things like acquisitions."
