Those looking for graphical and sound improvements over the previous game should be warned. RE4 looks about the same as the PlayStation 2 edition, with only a few slight improvements in animation and environments. However, don't worry about it too much -- it was a striking game to begin with and continues to look exquisite, even in its early development phase.
Along with the regular game (which takes nine to 25 hours to complete, depending on skill level), the game features the Ada Wong missions from the PlayStation 2 version. Here, players take control of Ada. She has a hidden agenda all her own, which players discover by completing her various missions. Other bonus goodies can be unlocked over the course of the game, including bonus costumes and items. While some new stages exclusively made for the Wii would have been nice, this should be more than adequate in keeping fans happy.
Resident Evil 4 continues to be a great video game for the GameCube and PlayStation 2, so it should have no problem doing the same thing for the Nintendo Wii this summer. Even those who have beaten the game to death (pun intended) should discover something new, particularly with the game's upgraded control set-up. Let's see how that chainsaw freak holds up against a Wii remote.
