Quotes To Kill Zombies By: The Best (Worst) Resident Evil Quotes Ever (GCN)

It's not Shakespeare, but we can't help but love the cheesy dialogue infecting the granddaddy of survival horror.

The Resident Evil series has been synonymous with two different things - terrific monster-killing action and ridiculously bad dialogue. Seriously, it almost seems like Capcom WANTS the dialogue to come across as corny in order to give it some unintended humorous appeal. This article takes a look at various quotes uttered throughout the series, along with a "corny meter" to indicate just how bad they really came off.

Resident Evil 4

Leon warns Ashley of approaching danger...
[This dialogue takes place after Ashley and Leon slide down a garbage chute to escape.]

Ashley Graham: "Are you out of your mind?"

Leon S. Kennedy: "I knew that you'd be fine if you landed on your butt."

Corny Meter: 6

This exchange probably would have gone better if Leon said something like, "Yeah, a little bit" or "It looks like you handled the landing just fine." But, being Resident Evil, it had to be just a little bit funny, so they left Leon poking fun at Ashley's posterior...even if it was in a heap of trouble at the time.

[This dialogue follows the villagers leaving Leon along after the ringing of a town bell.]

Leon S. Kennedy: "Where's everyone going? Bingo?"

Corny Meter: 7

OK, um, Leon, you just watched these people create a human bonfire not moments ago...and then they attempted to do you in collectively. Do you think they would stop their bloodthirsty quest just to get in a few rounds of bingo? They don't even qualify as senior citizens.

[This dialogue is spoken with a face-off between Ramon and Leon.]

Ramon: "I've sent my right hand to dispose of you."

Leon S. Kennedy: "Your right hand comes off?"

Corny Meter: 5

This really sounds like a smarmy comment rather than a corny one. Still, considering Leon's situation, does he really have time to say something that John McClane would utter? Still, it could've been a lot worse. He could have said, "What's the left one going to do in the meantime?"

[This dialogue gets spoken if Leon happens to look up to Ashley from below.]

Ashley: "Ahhh! You pervert!"

Corny Meter: 6

Come on, Ash. This guy just saved your life and he gets labeled a pervert for accidentally getting a peek up your skirt? It's not like he offered to buy you a drink and donned gold chains around his neck.

Truck Driver: "That guy's a maniac! Why'd he bite me?" At the time this was said the outbreak was just beginning so the truck driver wasn't aware that the guy who bit him was a zombie. He just assumed he was some dude who went crazy and started munchin on him. Not that corny in terms of the story considering he didnt even know zombies were runnin around town. Corny Meter: 2

Or how Chris says "This is your savior. You're savior's failure." right before the Tyrant fight. Then he says "He's sleeping with the ultimate failure!" After the Tyrant fight. Rebecca announces that she was wearing a bullet proof vest after Chris fights the Tyrant. Also if you have the AI on your partner in Re5, they yell "RELOAD!" before they actually reload. Although I think the worse line I've heard is when someone was playing Re5 and they called Chris a 'Muscle bomb meatball.' xD I laughed so hard.

Gotta love the Re dialogue. It's so corny it's funny. Like the scene where Chris gets sprayed in the face with bug spray and then Rebecca give the excuse "I though you were a zombie!" Or "It's me Chris." "Is that you Rebecca?" ...Chris she just told you that. Or all the times Leon says "ADA WAIT!" In Re2.

You guys totally forgot about one that would score a 10 on the corny meter: *As Rebecca enters the piano room* Rebecca: It's me, Chris. *Chris beckons Rebecca to come over to him* Chris: Is that you, Rebecca? Seriously. Does he need glasses THAT badly? T_T

Just sayin, when the truck driver said "That guy's a maniac! Why'd he bite me?" Its in the beginning when not everyone knew that the people were zombies, so the truck driver just assumed it was a regular Joe who went crazy and took a chunk out of him. Corny Meter: 2

My favorite that they missed? After Jill finds Forest: Barry: "Jill, wait! I found this." JIll: "What is it?" Barry: "It's a weapon. It's REALLY powerful. Especially against living things!"

Chris: "Ho ha ha ha ha ha ha..." Wesker: "Chris?" Chris: "ha HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!" Wesker: "Stop it! T_T" That was the single greatest exchange in dialogue in RE, and you guys missed it. =\

Personally I don't really like this article. It doesn't seem like it was written by a resident evil fan to me...Besides! The corniness factor doesn't make them bad!!! I love most of these quotes! 'Your right hand comes off?' among others had me laughing - a necessary thing in Resident Evil games.

Those quotes may be stupid but it's what makes the game funny.
