It's been awhile since we pummeled boxers in the Ready 2 Rumble games on the Dreamcast, and the franchise's return wasn't worth the wait. Ready 2 Rumble Revolution for Wii has a decent comical presentation, along with several modes (Championship, Build-a-Boxer). Sadly, it screws up on two counts. First, awful characters including a gruff sergeant with man boobs and lame celebrity knockoffs of Shaun White and David Beckham turn stomachs, not heads. Second, the controls are borderline broken. Throwing jabs is easy, but the other punches, including hooks and uppercuts, don't register no matter how many times you try. That makes each match a short and painfully boring punch-fest. If you must Rumble, stick with the older games. They're far more entertaining than this sloppy brawler.
