The GameDaily One-Minute Review
After months of speculation, Activision finally revealed the release details on the 360 version of Quake 4, and yes, it IS a launch title. It's also pretty damn cool, with globs of action, lots violence, and a story that's good enough to keep things moving. But it's obvious that it needed a little more time to cook, what with the annoying load times, a whacky auto save function, and a frame rate that isn't nearly as fast as the PC version of the game. It also doesn't help that the online multiplayer component is nothing more than Quake III inspired death matching and capture the flag. It's just a hard $59.99 pill to swallow when id Software is busy crafting Enemy Territory for the PC. But my bitching aside, Quake 4 is a good Xbox 360 launch title and worth playing if you're looking for an FPS with a distinct sci-fi flavor. Just don't expect anything innovative.User Reviews
