Breaking news!!! Old Navy to give away free copy of Lego Rock Band when you spend $20 or more. Check it out.

Ahh, Black Friday. The one day of the year when stores offer ridiculously over-the-top deals, and shoppers by the hundreds pick up as many material possessions as possible. That said, it usually helps to know what you're shopping for, rather than hitting the stores blindly. With that, we proudly present this handy little shopper's guide, pointing out some of the best bargains money can buy. Happy hunting.

System deals

Many stores offer system bundles this year, which is perfect if you need to snag a new game console. Wal-Mart has two in particular that are hard to overlook. For $199, you'll be able to get an Xbox 360 Arcade bundle that includes the Activision game, Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa, along with DVDs of both the original Madagascar film and its sequel.

If you're looking for something a little more mature, the store's exclusive PlayStation 3 bundle has you covered. For $299, you'll get the 120 GB system, along with two games: Batman: Arkham Asylum and Infamous, and a Blu-ray copy of The Dark Knight, last year's mega blockbuster film.

GameStop has no shortage of system deals. Buy an Xbox 360 Elite on Friday morning from any location and it'll throw in a free copy of either Bakugan or Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The PlayStation 3 bundle is more impressive, as you'll get God of War Collection and Littlebigplanet: Game of the Year Edition free with the system.

Best Buy also jumped into the bundle action. $299 will net you either a PlayStation 3, packed with Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In Time and Littlebigplanet: Game of the Year Edition, or an Xbox 360 Elite with the Pure/Lego Batman dual pack, along with four additional games: Wall-E, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. You'll want to hurry on the PS3 system, though. It's a day one doorbuster going from 5 AM to whenever supplies run out, and they will run out.

Toys R' Us offers some bundles as well. For $159.99, you'll be able to buy a Nintendo DSi, along with a free EVA Sleeve Kit and car adapter. If it's an Xbox 360 you're after, $229.99 will buy you an Arcade system with carrying case and three games: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, PopCap Arcade Vol. 1 and Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade (which comes with 30 games). That's a pretty sweet deal.

Other stores have offers available with an Xbox 360 Elite purchase. Get one from Target and you'll automatically score a $50 gift card. Go with K-Mart and it'll throw in Halo 3: ODST for free. Stick with Sears and 12 months of Xbox Live will be given to you at no charge. And if you've got a GameCrazy store near you, getting one there will earn you an extra wireless controller.

K-Mart is offering those who purchase the Assassin's Creed bundle for Sony PSP a free goodie, a copy of Assassin's Creed II for PlayStation 3. It's an interesting choice, given that the game won't work on the PSP. Oh well, all the more reason to get a PS3 from Wal-Mart.

Finally, if you're looking to buy a DSi this Friday, keep an eye open for new packages from Nintendo. The company has specific bundles that will be at retailers this Friday with DSi games programmed onto the system. You can choose from the metallic blue Mario package, or test your noggin with the white Brain Age bundle. Both cost $169.99. Snag 'em before they sell out.
