A website (which has subsequently been taken down) has revealed the existence of a new venture called Radar Group. Over the weekend, the folks at Shack News spotted the information present on the site before it was removed. Apparently, Radar Group is led by 3D Realms (Duke Nukem, Prey) founder Scott Miller and game industry veteran Jim Perkins, a former SVP of GT Interactive and founder of FormGen, Inc. and World Entertainment Broadcasting Corp.
Radar Group is described as an "original IP incubator" that will aim to take video game projects into cross-media properties such as "films, TV shows, novels and toys."
From the now offline site: "We design games from the ground up with an equal emphasis on storytelling and gameplay. We build into our original, co-created IP the hooks to make for both a great game and a great film. You don't have to look far for proof that our new approach will work; sales charts every year greatly favor IP born within our industry."
Miller will serve as the company's Chief Creative Officer, while Perkins will lead the business as CEO. According to the site, some of the first projects for Radar Group will include original IP from 3D Realms such as Earth No More and Prey 2. The site also lists two unannounced titles and a third person adventure game called Incarnate.
It should be noted that this is the first update on Prey 2 in quite some time. The game was listed on the site for PC and Xbox 360, but it's currently not clear if developer Human Head will be on the project again.
