Attendees of the 2009 Pokemon World Championships in San Diego were the first to hear about two new games that will launch to U.S. and EU gamers in Spring 2010. Called Pokemon HeartGold Version and Pokemon SoulSilver Version, the two games for DS and DSi bring players back to the Johto region (last featured in Pokemon Gold and Silver).
While details about the games were missing from a release issued to the press, Nintendo says that the games will offer "updated graphics and sound, as well as new touch-screen features and a host of surprises."
After selling 5.66 million copies of Pokemon Platinum Edition for DS, the arrival of HeartGold and SoulSilver are expected to be at the top of every Pokemon fan's gift list next year.
