Pirates of the Burning Sea, the latest massively-multiplayer online (MMO) game, takes players to the Caribbean during 1720, when nations colonized the area and people sought to make their fortunes. At the same time, pirates roamed the waters to steal themselves a fortune of their own. Ship-to-ship battles are intuitive, although prolonged fights become maddening after sustaining significant damage. Likewise, the sword fighting is easy to get into but gets tricky with multiple opponents. However, ship battles and swashbuckling makes up a small portion of the game. The rest is driven by the player-based economy, where ship captains need to gather and haul resources to upgrade vessels and equipment. With plenty to do and gorgeous visuals, Pirates of the Burning Sea is a quality MMO no one should miss.
