Personal Trainer: Cooking is for the chef that needs to whip up a meal or us bachelors that only have potatoes in our fridge. You can choose a recipe by ingredients (input potatoes, for example, and the game supplies you with a list of dishes), requirements, keyword search or just recipes containing selected ingredients. Countries include the U.S., Mexico, Japan, Hungary, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, China, Thailand Russia and numerous others.
Select a dish and you'll get the time needed to prepare as well as the calories. You can also check out the ingredients to make and the steps before cooking. There's even information on each ingredient. Interested in learning a factoid about green peppers? Personal Trainer: Cooking has the answer.
Once you get started, a helpful narrator walks you through the steps required to transform that pile of vegetables into a delicious feast. You can go as slow or as fast as you want, and we found the directions to be easy and very digestible, so to speak.
Naturally, the game is only as good as its recipes, and we're happy to report that Personal Trainer: Cooking has a wide variety of tasty dishes, such as empanadas, paella, clams in white wine, carrot salad, gazpacho and steak with chimichurri sauce. No matter your tastes, there's something here for you.
Of all Nintendo's 2008 video games, Personal Trainer: Cooking is the most useful. It appears to be a great companion for wannabe chefs, and we can't wait to try out its recipes this fall.
