Electronic Arts announced today that Oddworld Stranger, the fourth game in the Oddworld series, will bring its quirky action adventure exploits to the PS2 and Xbox in Spring of 2005. Oddworld Stranger, which was previously slated for nothing more specific than an "early 2005 release", will be published and distributed by EA under the EA Games brand.

Oddworld Stranger is a unique and new chapter of the Oddworld universe. Players are cast in the role of the Stranger, a bounty hunter who tracks down outlaws for moolah. Using a special weapons system that gives a whole new meaning to "live" ammo, players will encounter deviant species and hostile challenges along the way. Oddworld Stranger combines first and third-person gameplay with familiar Oddworld elements and an all-new engine to deliver a unique gameplay experience. With excellent visuals and an oddly melancholy story, Oddworld Stranger will be one to look for in Spring of 2005.
