Today, Capcom announced the results for Q1 of their 2007 fiscal year. Sales were down more than 7% from ¥11.43 billion ($99.3 million) last year to ¥10.57 billion ($91.8 million) in 2006. Despite this, net income rose from last year's ¥608 million ($5.2 million) to ¥808 million ($7.01 million) in 2006. Operating income fared even better with ¥1.32 billion ($11.5 million) reported, up from the ¥891 million ($7.73 million) reported during the same period the prior year.

In Japan, Okami for PS2 sold well, as did Megaman ZX for the DS, and Monster Hunter Freedom for the PSP. Megaman Battle Network 6, recently released in North America, was also a contributor. The company noted a conservative buying trend for home consoles because consumers are waiting for the PS3 and Wii. However, Capcom noted an upward swinging in portable gaming consumption.
