E3 2006 is one of the biggest industry events out there for video gaming enthsiasts and those who have an interest in our home electronics industry, and with each passing year more and more games are revealed to the market for a series of players. This year is no exception, as a lot of companies are gearing up to reveal plenty of new titles on the market that everyone can enjoy. But what games are coming around that look to be the most appealing to kids? Well, we've put together this little guide to tell you about some of the better games coming around for the young ones, so feel free to take a look.

New Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo/Nintendo DS)- Yes, we know, this game's going to be released in the middle of this month anyway, but look for Nintendo to make a big push for the game at the show. And there's good reason, too- it's the first 2-D Super Mario Bros. game since Yoshi's Island made waves back on the SNES a whopping thirteen years ago. The game will feature plenty of platforming excitement, as well as a versus mulitplayer mode and a ton of bonuses that can only be Nintendo. This game should be huge.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo/Nintendo DS)- Another game that shouldn't be overlooked in Nintendo's arsenal is this adventure game, which puts you in control of a cartoon-styled Link as he completes yet another vast quest in the world of Hyrule. This time around, however, he can use touch-screen antics to complete his doing, as well as typical attacks and maneuvers.

Magnetica (Nintendo/Nintendo DS)- The final gem in Nintendo's crown (thus far) for the Nintendo DS is their take on the classic Zuma puzzle game, this time using a futuristic touch. You're mounted on a cannon in the center of some playfields, and must launch similarly colored balls at other balls to eliminate them from the playfield. Stack up too many, and it's game over for you. This game looks to be a lot of fun, complete with multiplayer capability.

Rayman 4 (Ubisoft/numerous platforms)- The return of the limbless hero is upon us, as the mighty Rayman returns to take on some nasty rabbits and new enemies. This new adventure hasn't exactly shown off too much as of yet, but we can expect plenty of platforming excitement and new design tricks to keep us enthralled.

Lumines II (Buena Vista Games/PSP)- The return of the legendary Lumines is imminent, and this time around we can expect more crazy music, more sweet design, new puzzle pieces, more multiplayer options, and lots of other cool stuff to make this the sequel we've been wanting for quite some time.

Lumines Plus (Buena Vista Games/PlayStation 2)- The Lumines experience is also due for the PlayStation 2, bringing the unique puzzle game to the consoles for the first time ever. Expect plenty of modes to choose from, as well as a lot of fun action and unique design that can only be Mizuguchi's masterpiece.

Every Extend Extra (Buena Vista Games/PSP)- Another great game coming up from the teaming of Buena Vista and Q Entertainment is this hybrid puzzle/shooting game, featuring some insanely done designs and a lot of great ideas incorporated into its inventive gameplay. And, hey, it's not everyday you run into a game with all E's in the title, right?

Meteos: Disney Edition (Buena Vista Games/Nintendo DS)- The classic Nintendo puzzle game returns, this time with a Disney twist. Several popular Disney characters will be making an appearance in a number of ways, and the gameplay should see a couple of minor changes as well, to make the game more fun for kids.

Sonic Rivals (Sega/Sony PSP)- Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends make their debut on the PSP this fall with the arrival of this game, a platforming adventure where you race competitively against a rival to pick up icons and power-ups and get first place. This one looks to be a lot of fun, although some might see it as just a variation of this year's Sonic Riders.

Spongebob SquarePants: Creature From the Krusty Krab (THQ/various)- SpongeBob and company return in an all-new game, looking out for a creature that's emerged from the Krusty Krab. Expect plenty of fun platforming antics, all with the same design of the popular Nickelodeon cartoon.

Lego Star Wars II- (LucasArts/various)- The Star Wars formula that struck quite a nerve last year with its Lego iteration is back for more, this time focusing on the original movie trilogy from the 70's and 80's. Luke, Princess Leia, Han Solo and others are on hand for more flying and platforming excitement, from the same development team.

Capcom Puzzle World (Capcom/Sony PSP)- Capcom is bringing together three of their best puzzle games to one place, the Sony PSP, with Capcom Puzzle World. Check out the excitement of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, relive the magic of the bubble-busting Buster Bros. trilogy, or check out Block Block and get some serious ball-paddle action going.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega/PS3, Xbox 360)- The hedgehog is gearing up to make another kind of return, this time a grand debut on the next-gen consoles. Expect a hearty graphic adventure with lots of platforming excitement and blazing new levels. We'll have plenty of coverage on this title.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Sega/Nintendo Wii)- This all-new take on the Monkey Ball series looks to be very promising, with the gameplay techniques of the Wii thrown in with rolling around, collecting bananas, and completing a series of complex stages. Looks very cool.
