These days, you have to be careful with video games. Buying used, for example, could turn out disastrous, since irresponsible gamers have a nasty habit of scratching discs to the point that they don't work. Even publishers are to blame for damaging sealed copies of games, as Microsoft did with limited edition copies of Halo 3.

That said, you have to hand it to cartridges. Those suckers can withstand quite a beating, thanks to those protective plastic shells. To prove this, GoNintendo conducted an experiment on eight copies of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, where they drilled holes into a case, tossed another into the freezer and crushed yet another with a car.
