SNK's latest foray into 2-D fighting, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum for the PlayStation 2, should please fans of the genre. The game features a strong cast of characters (including a couple from the Metal Slug series), as well as a new tag-team play mechanic that'll remind you of Capcom's Versus arcade games. However, the game has balancing issues. Some characters have the advantage of using Special Double Assaults, while others hit a hell of a lot harder than others. The modes are lacking, too. Beyond that, though, this is a reasonable – and fun – fighting game for $20.
