Next week, Electronic Arts takes us to school with its latest pigskin effort, NCAA Football 10, available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Before making the grade on the field, check out the game's most exciting features, starting with the popular Team Builder.

EA Sports Team Builder: Ditch those fancy college teams and create your own. Just log onto the EA Sports Team Builder website and customize a plethora of features, including jerseys, helmets, rosters, mascots and even the field; you can upload an image and slap it onto the turf. Then upload your creation online for download into the game, or share your unique team with the rest of the world. Look for the GameDaily Marauders (or something equally lame) online.

Season Showdown: Gamers brag about their favorite school being number one, but now it's time to prove it. In Season Showdown, players select their team and then set off to earn credits (against the computer, online players and while playing web-based games) that EA pools together to determine the national champion. The game takes everyone's totals into account and uses the regular season schedule, so if you really think the Florida Gators rule, you better keep playing.

Strategic Playcalling: Almost every player has his or her favorite play. Well in NCAA Football, the computer will adjust if you keep running the same formation. You can trick it, however, by making adjustments, perhaps with some play action.

Game Planning: This feature lets you adjust strategy by instructing the team how to play. There are 11 different commands to choose from that include going for interceptions and opening larger running lanes. These may work against you, so be sure to put some thought into it before sending your guys onto the field.

These features, among others, should separate NCAA Football 10 from its predecessors, but wait until our review to see if this gridiron game passes with flying colors.
