If you go into NCAA Football 09 expecting a world of change from last year's effort, you're in for a letdown. Not much has changed between the two versions, outside of the inclusion of an online Dynasty mode (for up to 12 players), the ability to download customized rosters and slightly improved interaction with your home crowd. It still feels rushed with noticeable glitches (especially in the roster menus) and questionable reaction by the defensive line, where you're so sure you have a receiver in your sights but inexplicably miss him anyway. It just about looks, sounds and plays as it did before, solidly but without anything "wow"-worthy to justify your $60 purchase. Rent it before you decide to take the plunge.
