Explode to the rim and throw down the rock in EA Sports' NBA Live 09. Similar to last year's edition, this game features enjoyable run and gun basketball that lets you dunk in someone's face or quickly pull up for the game winning three point shot. Unlike NBA 2K9, you don't need to read the game booklet to perform sweet looking ankle breakers or run the reliable pick and roll, but there's more exciting features here than just playing exhibition. Detailed stat tracking, called NBA Live 365, takes data from the actual NBA season and applies it to the video game, dramatically altering lineups and player tendencies (their Dynamic DNA) on a daily basis. In addition, you can play the FIBA tournament with 24 international teams, learn a position in the new Be A Pro mode, brush up on your skills at the NBA Live Academy and enjoy five-on-five online games using 10 consoles. Glitches, such as players inbounding the ball while still inbounds look strange, but overall, NBA Live 09 will keep you shooting for months.
