Philadelphia 76ers fans have had it rough. After losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2001 NBA Finals, the team has struggled in the playoffs, most recently losing to the Orlando Magic after leading the series 2-1, but there is hope. Rising star Andre Iguodala hopes to resurrect the franchise and bring it back to prominence. We recently caught up with him at 2K Sports' NBA 2K10 party, where he talked hoops, working out and using a spoon to beat video games.

We see you at a lot of these 2K parties. What's up with that?

A lot of women here. A lot of nice girls come out.

I'm joking. You can connect with a lot of different people from the sports and video game world. I just have a great time, get away from Philly and do some shopping in New York before the season starts.

Do you have a favorite 2K party?

Last year's was really good. Had a lot of fun at that one.

What are your favorite games?

Track & Field from back in the day. I would take a spoon and run it across the buttons to run fast.

What's the worst thing about being in the NBA?

Beggars. People call and ask for stuff all the time.

Who did you look up to as a kid?

I looked up to Michael Jordan a lot. Still watch tapes of him. And during my rookie year, Aaron McKee was the veteran who taught me the ropes. Helped me get to where I am right now.

What have you done this summer to improve your game?

Shoot a whole lot of shots. That's pretty much what I do every year. I also stay conditioned to remain in top shape. I put my body through a lot of pain so when the season comes, it's a piece of cake.

What is NBA top shape?

It's my job, so I'm in the gym all day long. You've got your job, and you can't be in there as much as I am. I'm there four to five hours a day shooting, lifting weights and running. I put my body through hell basically.

What's your favorite sport besides basketball?

I'm a big track and field fan. I ran track in high school so I still follow that a bit.

What impresses you about NBA 2K10

Every player is different. Players don't run and shoot the same. It's not a bunch of robots running around, and it has a good NBA pace. If you don't have a good shooting team, you have to go inside a lot and the defense zones it up, so you can relate a bit to how the game is played.

Do you always play as Philly?

I switch it up a bit. I play as Houston a lot, because Tracey McGrady can shoot from outside and Yao Ming's good from inside. They also have a solid defense, so they get a lot of stops.

Sounds good. Have fun at the party.
