The GameDaily One-Minute Review

EA's latest entry in their popular Sims series takes a slightly different turn with MySims, almost resembling a humanized version of Nintendo's popular Animal Crossing franchise. This game has no shortage of creative options, as players create their own dream town from scratch with imaginative building designs and all kinds of oddball characters. However, its easygoing nature leaves a bit to be desired as far as dangers and comical situations go. It also tends to go over the top on cuteness, particularly with gibberish and Sim character designs. There's no online play, either, making this one great for kids, but shallow for experienced gamers.

mkzsonic: MySims : A good game, but is it a good Sims game?

In MySims, you can travel around the neighborhood, into other people's homes, build your own furniture, choose your Sims voice, and make every house and Sim unique. You can now actually SPEAK with a Sim and they'll say something. That's the good parts. Otherwise, you have nothing to do. The tasks the Sims give you are easy and short. Not only that, but know you don't HAVE to eat or sleep etc. you have no needs. You can't choose a specific gender or age-range for your Sim. I said Sim, as in one. For every file, you only create and control one Sim. And your town has very limited space, so you'll have to part with some Sims to move in more. And you can't go past a Best Friend relationship, as far as I see. I've been trying and I can't develop a crush on any Sim in town. Infact, building a relationship has few risks. Of course, in the past games, some nice actions got negative reactions. But now it's a matter of "Be Nice" and "Be Mean" and very rarley will you get a rejection for your compliment or have a conversation make relationship status go down. And you can't specificly say "Hug" or "Compliment" anymore. They just do something when you click to be nice. TALKING doesn't last as long as iit used to, because the Sim has one text thing pop up and then you click A once or twice and your done. No relationship points out of it. And you HAVE to make any furniture. There is no way to buy a premade piece! I chose to recomend this game because as far as games go, this is ok. But when it comes to Sims, this E-rated short adventure I beat in less than a week, isn't very good. I give it a 6.3 out of 10.
