The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Monster Hunter certainly isn't without its fans. The game sold reasonably well on the PS2, and this release for the PSP has gone gangbusters in Japan, selling over 500,000 copies. So, of course, Capcom's given this PSP edition a shot here in the States, and it's not half bad- if you can deal with the affecting problems it brings. While it's great to build your own hunter and create weapons and armor with creative aspects, and some of the monster hunting is thoroughly enjoyable, the game runs into some slight problems with gameplay and camera control that keep it from being in "freedom" of flaws. The lack of online play hurts a bit, too, especially since the Japanese version had it in full stock. Monster Hunter Freedom is still a great time, but not as great as it could have been.
