Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter Freedom 2G has shipped over 1 million units in Japan. This mark was achieved in just six days since its initial release. Capcom confirmed that the series has sold over 6.3 million units worldwide since the release of the first Monster Hunter title in 2004.
"We anticipate that this title will be a long-seller, as have all of the games in the Monster Hunter franchise," Capcom said in a statement.
The game is an expansion of sorts to Monster Hunter Freedom 2, which is also a PSP title. Monster Hunter Freedom 2G also released with a special customized PSP bundle. No plans have been announced to bring Monster Hunter Freedom 2G to North America.
Monster Hunter 3 is currently being developed right now for the Wii.
