A few days ago, we were shocked to discover 18 person deathmatches in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In case you haven't had the privilege of experiencing these multiplayer battles, everyone spawns in the same area and kills each other, so you have roughly two seconds (and that's a generous estimate) to live, unless, of course, you're a cheater. If that's the case, have fun surging to 142 kills in a single match.
We play a lot of Modern Warfare 2, and immediately knew something was wrong. You can't have 18 players in a map like Terminal or Rust, simply because they're too small to host so many trigger-happy maniacs.
Unfortunately, it appears that Infinity Ward either doesn't care about this obvious hack, or cannot do anything to stop it. Several days have passed since our first 18-person deathmatch, and they still take place, as of 11:56 PM ET, December 19th.
Look, it's one thing to have someone hack into your game and fix it immediately. It happens. But to let it go on this long without addressing the issue is 100 percent unacceptable, especially with thousands of people receiving MW2 as a gift this holiday season. Way to make a first impression, Infinity Ward.
Bottom line, the developer needs to patch this game, ASAP. If this was planned, bad decision. If this was a hack, fix the damn game. Sorry, but Infinity Ward's stock just dropped several points. Wake the hell up. As for Microsoft, bring out the ban hammer.
