The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Sony blasts a homerun with its latest baseball extravaganza, MLB 08: The Show. Unlike last year's game, which was a port of its PlayStation 2 cousin, MLB 08 was built from the ground up on the PlayStation 3, utilizing the system's power to create a beautiful recreation of America's pastime, full of realistic animations, detailed parks and impressive crowds. Beyond the eye candy and excellent commentary lies a stat crunching monster with loads of depth. Its career mode, Road to the Show 2.0 will keep you busy for months, while additions to offline and online modes greatly enhance the game's replay value. It's so good, you'll play it right up to next year's edition.

kickelbum: JUST OK - LOTTA HYPE!!!

Great graphics. Updated rosters (with internet connection) and thats about it for the GOOD. The game play is flawed. BAD. Batting is just missing something. Its boring and bland if you like action. The game would sooner throw around you then to let you PLAY THE GAME. I like to swing and PLAY not sit and watch. You can guess (exactly) pitch location put the joystick at the right place and then miss?? If you do hit the ball the left feilder could easily catch a fly ball in right (thats how fast the computer players are)??? Your guys - forget it!!! Ive found its better to just swing away. - Pitching is ancient meter swing bar and is VERY inconsistant, its computer biased. Two identical pitches will be vastly diff. and fall into the strike zone if the computer needs a run. Trust me on this c- review. Fun to watch not to play if you have an extra 59 buks spend it on a REAL game like COD.
