According to Cube-Europe, the latest edition of Nintendo Official Magazine contains an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto in which the gaming legend commented on the latest Metroid game for Nintendo's upcoming handheld, the Nintendo DS.

One of the big tidbits of information to come out of the interview was that Metroid Prime: Hunters will contain multiple control schemes including one that does not require the handhelds unique touch screen. It appears the alternate control scheme has been implemented in response to several comments and complaints from users regarding the need to hold the touch screen and DS simultaneously during Hunters gameplay,

Additionally, Miyamoto spoke about the Nintendo DS's touch screen itself stating that if it gets dirty, a cotton swab could be used to clean the screen. Many industry insiders and gamers have wondered how Nintendo's duel screen device will work from a functionality standpoint and, based on the remarks of Miyamoto, it appears that providing multiple gameplay options might be the safest approach.
