Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is already a massive hit with 500,000 sold in Japan and one million in Europe. North American sales figures for Solid Snake's final mission are still not available, but according to Famitsu the game has now shipped (not sold) a total of three million copies globally.
The game has clearly boosted PS3 hardware sales in Japan as well, and with the launch of the PS3 MGS4 bundle in the U.S. we would bet the numbers will be reflected on this side of the Pacific when the June NPD data becomes available.
