Konami Digital Entertainment sent word today that limited edition of the much anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be exclusive to leading video game retailer GameStop. The limited edition will sell for a whopping $84.99 and come packed with exclusive artwork by famed Kojima Productions illustrator Yoji Shinkawa, an additional Blu-ray disc featuring two "making of" documentaries, which will offer interviews with Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, and the Metal Gear Solid 4 soundtrack CD.
Also, those who participate in the pre-sell program (for either standard or limited editions) will be entitled to a copy of the Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD (while supplies last). This DVD features MGS4 trailers and original video focusing "on the interconnected history between all of the 'Snakes,' Big Boss (Naked Snake), Liquid Snake, Solidus Snake, and of course, Solid Snake." Furthermore, Konami said that each DVD allocated during the pre-order period will contain a unique voucher code that will enable the consumer to download the Metal Gear Online Beta. The Beta can be downloaded between April 17and May 5 and consumers can start playing it from April 21 to May 5.
"As the most anticipated game to be released for the PlayStation 3 system this year, we wanted to make sure that no fan of Metal Gear Solid would be disappointed with the amount of content and gameplay at their disposal," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
