The data trackers at Media Create have released game sales for the week ended June 15, and it's clear that Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was in complete control. Selling around 465K copies, Solid Snake led the PS3 to its highest weekly sales since launch, putting Sony's console at the top for the first time in 2008.
The PS3 sold over 75,000 units (including the new Metal Gear hardware bundle), easily outpacing the Wii's 45,564 units. Sony's PSP continues to sell well also, putting up another 64,675 units. Nintendo's DS Lite sold through 39,201 units, and rounding out hardware were the PS2 and Xbox 360 at 7,297 units and 2,163 units, respectively.
Despite the boost from Metal Gear, the top 30 games were still dominated by Nintendo platforms. 16 titles were for the DS and nine were for the Wii.
