Today, Konami Digital Entertainment officially confirmed the rumors of Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection. This compilation will include Metal Gear Solid for the PSOne, and director's cuts of the two PS3 incarnations, which are Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, respectively. Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection will come in a commemorative package with artwork by renowned Metal Gear Solid character designer Yoji Shinkawa.
"Since its inception, the Metal Gear Solid franchise has been one of the most successful game series in the history of video games, receiving worldwide recognition and praise," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment. "Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection represents a great value for gamers, bringing together three must-have classic titles which pioneered the stealth action genre."
Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection will retail for $29.99 when it releases.
