Over the years, Mega Man games have covered all manner of genres, but in ZX Advent, a fresh reworking of last year's open world shooter, it seems like Capcom found the right direction for the series. Mega Man games are notorious for their run-and-gun game play while employing insanely cool power-ups as the hero adopts the abilities of his slain enemies, and all of that is present here in grand fashion. What really pushes the franchise forward is its sense of freedom of exploration and narrative driven content. Throwing in some quality animated scenes and voice acting, on top of two interlocking campaign modes and some fun mini games for two players, makes this one of the better games in the long running franchise.
