The Blue Bomber will be heading your way once again as the X games become a collector's item. We take a quick look.

Over the years, Capcom has been doing wonders with one of their earliest licenses from the NES days, the Blue Bomber himself, Mega Man. Adventure after adventure has pitted him against a number of robotic foes to defeat, as well as new weapons to acquire and places to explore. Last year, Capcom celebrated his existence with the release of Mega Man Anniversary Collection, chronicling his first eight adventures in one snappy collection for both the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. But it appears that MMAC was just the beginning, as another collection is ready to tribute one of Capcom's oldest heroes.
Mega Man X Collection will mark the turn of events in the Blue Bomber's history, starting with the SNES adventures and working its way through many contemporary entries for the PlayStation, as well as including a new title that hasn't seen the light of day for release on US shelves, and is sure to intoxicate those eager enough to get a taste of the Blue Bomber's racing side.
Let's explain what the collection entails. The collection includes Mega Man X, Mega Man X2, and Mega Man X3 from the SNES days, all of which have become huge collector's items on Ebay. Also included in the collection are the PlayStation games Mega Man X4 (also on Sega Saturn), Mega Man X5, and Mega Man X6. Each game puts Mega Man in a huge futuristic setting, battling tons of cool cybernetic enemies while checking out hidden areas and challenging the occasional boss to gain their powers in an attempt to stop the evil Dr. Wily from controlling the world. (By the way, I should also mention that Mega Man's pal Zero also lends a hand in some of the later games.)
But that isn't all. As a cool little bonus, Capcom is throwing in Mega Man Battle and Chase, a game that was left unreleased on the US market for the PlayStation console. This is a straight-up Mega Man racing game that features numerous characters from the series, battling it out with a series of weapons and taking to some cool high-tech circuits to rule the battlefield. It's a sweet little extra, and probably not the only one Capcom has in mind. Expect some marvelous artwork pages and other behind-the-scenes goodies, as well as hidden unlockable items that are sure to keep fans blasting well into the next business morning.
If Mega Man Anniversary Collection. was any indication of what to expect, then Mega Man X Collection should be rock solid entertainment for both the classic gamers who remember the adventures of the reborn superhero and newcomers who crave something past the typical stuff that Mega Man X8 has to offer. We'll have more details and a playtest in the weeks ahead, so keep watching for the adventures of Mega Man.
