While we've known that new downloadable content was coming for the original Mass Effect (it was mentioned in the documentary included with the Platinum Hits edition of the game and confirmed by community manager Jay Watamaniuk at this year's New York Comic-Con), little had been revealed about the follow-up to "Bring Down the Sky," the first DLC released back in 2008. New details about the pack are speculated to surface this week.
Late yesterday, Bioware's official Twitter feed teased details for the next expansion: "Getting the feeling some news about the next ME1 DLC may be coming this week. Keep your eyes peeled."
Project Director Casey Hudson noted on the aforementioned documentary (embedded below) that gamers should expect a more combat-oriented experience: "You're going to go to a kind of casion-gaming-fight club space station." The first DLC (available for both the Xbox 360 and PC, free on the latter) added a set of missions on a new planet, pitting Commander Shepard against the Batarian race.
The full sequel, Mass Effect 2, is expected to release in Spring 2010, bringing a new free-flowing combat system and improved graphics.
