EA's Jeff Brown has told GameDaily BIZ that his company will continue to stand up for its creative teams and the games they make. He says, "We're going to fight back."

So what was the response? They simply brushed him off. The producer sent him a one-line Blackberry message telling him to call their PR department. Ironically they're directing a man in PR to contact their PR team.
Brown told GameDaily BIZ that he's "not holding his breath," adding, "I watch Fox news a lot and recognize that they tend to move fast to the next topic. It really stinks for the people who made the game, but I don't think they should be waiting for a correction from Fox."
Ultimately, however, EA does not plan to back down. "We're not giving up," Brown emphasized. "EA is under new management now and [EA CEO] Riccitiello's made it clear that we're going to stand up for our creative teams and the games they make. We're going to fight back. There's a lot of nonsense about gaming coming out of politics, government and media – John wants us to start calling them out on it."
Editor's comments:
We're happy to see EA stand up for the industry in this way. If video games are to be taken seriously as a medium, then the publishers need to stand up for their product. They need to be pro-active and not allow mainstream media like Fox to spread misleading statements about great games like Mass Effect. For far too long publishers have remained silent. Even if Fox news does not issue a correction this time, the very fact that EA responded lets them know that the game industry won't take this kind of abuse lying down. Ultimately, we'd like to see John Riccitiello and other top game executives appear on Fox News and other networks to shed some light on the games we hold so dear.
