With a large cast of characters, frequent nods to both popular and obscure portions of the Marvel mythology, and basic beat 'em up gameplay, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance seems like it could provide some simple thrills. However, severe issues with repetitive gameplay and tiring controls detract from an already tedious experience, leaving it with few redeeming qualities.
