The GameDaily One-Minute Review

Mario Kart Wii isn't another recycling of the series – it's an excellent entry with several new additions. Motorbikes are a blast to race on, the new trick/boost system is fused well into the traditional gameplay and the new tracks blend in outstandingly with old-school ones. The big expansion here, however, is the infusion of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. A Mario Kart universe awaits you , complete with online play, ghost racers and competitive rankings. The overuse of power-ups is blatantly ridiculous and the general design hasn't changed much, but Kart is still a riotous romp.

ajg1237: Mario Kart wii review

Mario Kart wii is definitely a fun game. It's fun to play with friends and it is great that you can play up to 12 players online but you can't really do it offline. There are things that could make this game better like the steering on the wii wheel for example, it is way too sensitive and that is what makes that control scheme so difficult in the first place. You are able to use the gamecube controller but of course someone who never played a video game before in their life would not understand how to use it. (I am talking about the non gamers who play wii sports.) Didn't Nintendo want to make it so both gamers and nongamers can play together? I like how the online system works where you can have more players without having to join a new race. I think the offline multiplayer should have had it so you can do as many races as you like without having that award ceremony thing at the end. The online mode should have at least allow you to interact with the other players you are facing. I do not know what improvements are needed on the included Mario Kart Channel but I am sure there are some. I know that this is a great game and I wish everyone even the non gamers could have fun with it. I would like Nintendo to make a wii update to make the steering a whole lot better. Please spread the word so so it could happen.

shiverpearl: Mario Kart

Mario Kart Wii is way different from the DS version. You can either use the wheel that it gives you or the Wii remote. You use the control pad and you have to turn it like the wheel. I played Mario Kart Wii before and it was really hard. If you are a beginner, it will seem really hard at first so you have to do the really easy ones. Make sure if you are a beginner it is not the course Rainbow Road. But, it is for everyone who loves to race against friends and who loves the classic Mario characters. I highly recommend it! If you do not like the Wii version, the DS version is easier. I have it. Well, I like it. I hope you do too! I think you will like this game because I think up to four people can play. It is really fun and your whole family can enjoy this game!
