The saga just never ends with Manhunt 2. While it looked as though the game would finally get its U.K. rating on its second appeal, the BBFC has stepped in and tried to block the measure.

The BBFC announced today in a terse press release that it is applying for a judicial review of the recent Video Appeals Committee decision to overturn the Board's rejection of the video game Manhunt 2. On top of this, the board is also looking to delay the decision by the Committee that would classify the game. This is because, as the BBFC sees it, the VAC view "is based on an approach to harm which is an incorrect interpretation of the Video Recordings Act."
This latest announcement is only the latest part in the ongoing drama surrounding the release of Manhunt 2 in the U.K. The game was denied a rating by the BBFC both initially and after the first appeal. Manhunt 2 was also smacked with an "AO" rating in the U.S., but it was later revised to "M" and released on October 31.
